Who are you? Youth Worker

We recognise that young people today face many challenges and some experience more barriers to participation than others. My City Too has built strong links with youth workers across London and without whose involvement many of the most disadvantaged young people would remain disconnected from our programmes. Hard to reach young people can be unsure and wary of engaging with new and different programmes, youth workers are a vital and important connector in building trust and respect between all those involved.
My City Too believes young people are well placed to act as leaders within their own peer groups, and communities and reach out to others (especially those groups least likely to participate normally) to help involve them in consultation processes when developing future spaces. If you are a youth worker looking to develop young leaders, or simply want to develop projects that help young people focus on their physical environment to better understand the impact it has on them, then please contact us at mycitytoo@open-city.org.uk

"It was a pleasure to work with such a great, inspiring team, thank you! I am very proud of the young people's hard work and superb presentation. It has been so wonderful to see the young people grow and develop, not only the skills learned from the programme, but also personally and socially. I know that individuals gained confidence, raised aspirations and widened their social network, all because of their participation over the last few days."
